South African Sauvignon blancs are all too often not recognized as some of the new world's best; leaving New Zealand and the U.S. to dominate. That's not really fair. There is some great stuff coming out that is bright, individual and terroir driven.
The 2010 Sauvignon Blanc has simple ripe lime and gooseberry on the nose with just a touch of limestone. In the mouth it is crisp with great acidity containing a fascinating array of citrus notes and that touch of tropicality that defines the new world.
